Peru is incredibly diverse both culturally and geographically.  Civilizations in the area date back to 1500BC with many notable cultures, including the Paracas, Nazcas and the Incas.  Many of these left behind artifacts of their cultures that have lasted through the millennia, such as the ancient geoglyphs of the Nazca and the many ruins, including Machu Picchu of the Inca.  These cultures combined with that of the Spanish have influenced the architecture, cuisine and traditions, making Peru a place like no other.
